Relay teams are made up of two runners or walkers who will cover a little over 6 miles each. The first runner of each team will start at 7:30 a.m. with the half-marathon/full marathon runners and follow the first half of the course. He/she wearing the neoprene timing strap will pass the timing strap to the second runner at the exchange point in New Town on Galt House Drive, just east of the Town Hall. The first runner will hop on the shuttle and join his/her teammate near the Foundry Art Centre’s parking lot. The team crosses the finish line together.
Shuttles will transport the second teammate to the exchange point in New Town. The shuttles will leave from Llywelyn’s Pub at 100 N. Main Street, St. Charles (1 block west of the start/finish line). Shuttles start at 7 a.m. and take off every 15 minutes. DO NOT BE LATE, SHUTTLES WILL NOT WAIT FOR YOU!

The FINAL shuttle will leave at 8:15 AM and will not wait for any runner! Please plan to arrive at Llywelyn’s Pub no later than 7:00 a.m. to avoid missing the shuttle. We will not be responsible for runners who miss the final shuttle, please plan accordingly.
Shuttles transporting the first runners from New Town will leave the exchange zone every 15 minutes starting at 8:15 am. The last shuttle will leave New Town at 9:30 a.m.

Rollerblades/inline skates, bikes, strollers/baby joggers, motorized vehicles and pets on the course are strongly prohibited. The use of an iPod, mp3 player, CD player or other audio/video device is discouraged.
Please inform your friends and family supporting you on race day that no dogs are allowed in Runners’ Village during the event.
Aid Stations/Mile Markers
There will be several aid stations as well as paramedics along the course. Water, Gatorade Endurance Formula, and portable restrooms will be availalbe at miles 2.25, 4.75, 7.25, 9.75 and 12 as well as the Start/Finish. Food will be provided at the finish.
Race officials may cancel, delay or change the event in case of extreme weather or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of the participants. In the event of cancellation, refunds will not be issued.
We use a corral start for the race. There are designated start areas designed to facilitate an efficient start for all participants by grouping runners with similar anticipated race paces together. Look for pace signs with your personal pace-per-mile. (For example if you are planning to run 10 minutes per-mile, line up behind the 10 minute per-mile sign.)
There are access points to each of the 6 corrals (7, 8, 9 10, 12 & 14 minutes-per-mile) along the sidewalk on the west side of Riverfront Drive. Be in the appropriate starting corral at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the race. We use electronic timing chips attached to the back of your Race Bib. Don’t worry about the minutes it takes before you cross the starting line — they won’t count in your final time.
We utilize the ChronoTrack “B tag” system for race timing for the Half Marathon with time clocks at 5K, 10K and 15K along the course. The timing tag will be affixed to a neoprene strap best worn around your ankle so it is close to the timing mats. Teammates will exchange the ankle strap in New Town at the exchange point.
There will be race clocks at 5K, 10K and 15K.
After crossing the finish line, please bring your ankle strap to the Big River Results Tent to be recycled.
Participants may have their friends and family track their progress as they MOOOve along the course via social media and text message alerts. When a runner crosses a timing mat an alert will instantly be sent to their friends and family of their pace and location! Want to follow a runner’s progress during the race? Or are you registered to run with MO’ and want to direct people to where they can receive your race updates?
We are asked all the time if walkers are welcome, and we happily say yes! We just ask that everyone maintain a 16-minute mile pace. If you are unable to maintain that pace, that’s ok, we will ask you to move to the sidewalk and finish the race obeying the traffic laws as we will re-open the roads.
Time Limit Rules
The half marathon course route re-opens to traffic beginning 20 minutes after the official race start, each mile every 16 minutes. The finish line will officially close at 2 p.m. The time limit rules will be strictly enforced.
Age Minimum Requirement
The age minimum requirement is 14-years- old for the full Marathon. Anyone under 14-years-old with documented running experience may be allowed to race in MO’ Cowbell on a case-by-case bases. Permission must be granted by race officials. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cowbell trophies will be given to the first, second and third place all male, all female and coed teams. Overall awards are determined by “gun time” Age group awards are determined by “Chip” time.

Need to transfer from one race to another?
We got you covered! Runners may transfer from one race to another through their race profile. There is no refund for a runner who downgrades from a more expensive registration choice/race to a less expensive one. If a runner would like to upgrade to a more expensive race, they will be automatically be charged the difference in entry fee plus an additional $10 transfer fee.
